I was on a bike ride from Toronto’s Cabbagetown up through Humber River Trail to York University, about a 40 kilometre route. The willow tree marks the apex of the ride, before the trail gives way to a last cantankerous leg up a truck-infested Wilson Road. At this moment, having had to stop earlier for a deer crossing, I realized I forgot I was in Toronto.
